WASHINGTON DC - Held on Saturday, November 11th, 2023, at Echostage in the Langdon neighborhood, The House of Garçon put on an amazing event for the Ballroom community!

The “BLACK IS…” Ball was held to celebrate the 15th anniversary of the inception of the HOUSE OF GARÇON. The Ball's categories paid homage to Black Culture and History.

With over $40,000 in Grand Prizes between 12 categories, there were many competive moments throughout the ball. Some of the Ballroom Scene’s greatest talent hit the floor this night. Check out some of the hottest moments of the ball below.

Before the ball began, Masters of the Ceremony Icon Jack Mizrahi Gorgeous Gucci, and Legendary Snookie West kicked off the evening with LSS.

LSS (Legends, Statements, & Stars)

After getting the crowd going with LSS, the ball immediately began. The first category “Butch Queen Face: Era VS Era” definitely did not disappoint!

This very competitive category had a grand prize of $2,222!

Grand march

Many members of the house of Garçon came from around the world to represent the house for Grand March!

Shannon Garçon, the founder of the house of Garçon, was presented a lifetime Achievement Award from president Biden!

This moved Shannon to tears, and rightfully so!

THE BALL HAD MANY MORE ENTERTAINING MOMENTS, CHECK SOME OF THE HIGHLIGHTS BELOW!

Overall Mother Lola Gorgeous Gucci was deemed icon in a very emotional and entertaining clip!

The Legendary performers came to dance!

One of the most entertaining categories was the $4,444 Tag Team Performance category!

The House of Garçon welcomed new overall parents Leryia& Chloé

The grand prize category did not disappoint with appearances from aja Mugler, zimmy west & more!

The team realness category was interesting. I love when realness figures can think outside the box!
