NEW YORK CITY - On Saturday, April 26, 2025, Ballroom Icon Leiomy Maldonado hosted her first ball, “The Fifth Element Ball,” at Amazura in New York City. The event was a vibrant celebration of ballroom culture, featuring dazzling performances and fierce battles.
Opening the night with undeniable star power, LSS set the tone for The Fifth Element Ball with a stunning showcase of ballroom greatness. Tracy Africa, Tanay Pendavis, Aja Mugler, and many more graced the floor, reminding everyone why this culture endures—through legacy, presence, and pure magic.
Leiomy’s two-part grand march was a masterclass in performance and presence, blending her signature flair with a powerful lesson on the importance of crowd participation.
Leiomy also announced the launch of Ballroom Scouts, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to uplifting the ballroom community through mental wellness, financial literacy, and personal growth. A portion of the proceeds from The Fifth Element Ball went directly to support its first initiatives, including the Pay It Forward Fund—a groundbreaking model that reinvests ballroom event revenue into future balls, workshops, and cultural preservation efforts. With a vision to build a permanent Ballroom Hub, Leiomy is turning legacy into action and ensuring the next generation of legends has the tools to thrive both on and off the floor.
